i attended the university of hull in scarboprough to do a creative music technology degree and my ideas about music completely changed. I started learning about recording music onto computers and digital manipulation of audio. I Also learnt lots of skills in other areas of digital arts including digital photography, digital video production and web design.

i started using software more and more to create music, and created accompaniments to my guitar pieces using programmed drums, synthesizers and manipulated audio. i began creating drones and more computer based stuff alongside my guitar based songs, and tried to merge the two together the best way that i could.

i now live in brighton after leaving university in summer '05 and am trying to follow a number of different creative avenues. i have started performing around brighton and giving lessons in music technology and production as well as working with people involved in different media such as film and television.

in terms of my music, i have started combining a number of different instruments alongside the sounds i create on my computer including the flute, calimba, glockenspiel and some experimentation with my voice.

i am also always working on performance systems, improving the ways that i can perform my music live including live sampling and manipulation.

got a digital muti-tracker when i was sixteen and started making recordings of my songs. these usually involved layered guitars through effects and some vocals. i didn't enjoy singing too much, and many recordings ended up as instrumentals.

i just loved the fact i could work with so many ideas and record the sounds i wanted to. at this time i was still only really working with with my guitars, recording quite organically with liitle or no editing involved.

it started about 8 years ago when i picked up the guitar. i had been playing the flute for years, but i knew there had to be more than just playing songs and learning an instrument.

i borrowed a noisy old 4 track cassette mulritracker and started to record. all i wanted was to lay a thousand guitar tracks ontop of each other. i had been playing in bands and writing songs but recording started something different.
